Getting Played Symposium

February 23, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Getting Played – The Third Annual Symposium on Equity in the Entertainment Industry and Awards
The Getting Played Symposium features a performance by Rotimi Agbabiaka and is moderated by Symposium founder and organizer Kathleen Tarr. The Keynote speaker is Tamila D. Gresham, the founder & CEO of Represent, a nonprofit working to reach equal media representation in film, television, & theater for people of color, women, the LGBT community, folks with disabilities, and all those who live at intersections of these identities.
The Symposium’s awards recognize otherwise unheralded contributions to equity in the entertainment industry. While those honored possess impressive lists of other, more publicly appreciated accomplishments, the lesser known courageous and critical actions for which they are awarded serve as inspiration, modeling for us all what we might also contribute. Adam Leipzig is receiving an award this year.
